Again
this year, the Trustees of the ACBL Charity Foundation have authorized
each member of the ACBL Board of Directors to designate a charity or
charities to receive a total of $1,000.00.
If any member of District 10 knows of a worthwhile cause that should be
considered for the above amount, please submit a recommendation to me
prior to October 1, 2001. Only one charity will be selected. The written
recommendation must include:
1. The exact name of the beneficiary.
2. A copy of the IRS designation as a 501 (c) (3) organization.
3. The name and address of the person to whom the check should be
mailed.
Last year, only one recommendation was submitted. Paula Colgan, a member
of Unit 138 (Mississippi Bridge Association), recommended the National
Kidney Foundation of Mississippi. A check of $1,000.00 was donated to
that charity in October 2000.
